Protein Packed Strawberries
To lose weight and gain lean muscle, its pretty important to increase your protein while reducing carbs! I am always looking for high protein and low carb snack ideas! Strawberries are one of the best fruits to eat while dieting as they are low cal, and also lower on the Glycemic Index than other fruits!
This recipe is perfect for curing your sweet tooth, without cheating on your diet!
Yields: at least 3-5 servings.
20-30 Fresh Strawberries
3/4 cup 0% or 1% Plain Greek Yogurt
1/2 tbsp Stevia sweetener
1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
Tip: Plain Greek Yogurt is SO much lower in calories, fat and carbs than the flavored ones. Always choose plain, and you can sweetened it with vanilla, cinnamon, and stevia. This will save you approximately 130 calories in 3/4 cup, and also about 15g carbs per serving!
** I prefer eating these strawberries while they are just slightly frozen. I tried leaving them in the freezer over night, and they were a little too hard. So try and make them about 2 hours before you want to eat them.. they are SO good!
